Project Details
The Challenge
Additional space needed for a growing family. The desire for a main floor laundry/ mudroom and a second-floor bathroom, and additional garage space is always a plus!
The Vision
Having a large lot, the home could easily accommodate a four-car garage addition with a main floor laundry and mudroom entry. The desire for a 2nd floor Jack and Jill bath worked well with the existing bedroom locations.
The Solution
Remove the entire existing garage, excavate an area large enough to accommodate the new desired addition footprint. Engineer and frame the garage structure with a large open span. The mudroom and laundry spaces flow into the back yard and existing kitchen areas. Framing above the new space provided a perfect footprint for the second-floor bath area. The lower-level basement provides much needed additional storage.
